Simply put, we have put our trust in the New Testament claim, "Jesus is Lord!" This is the foundation of everything we believe and practice. It's also important to recognize that our beliefs are meaningless unless we put them into practice. "Jesus is Lord" is a declaration of allegiance and trust!
The following is a list of statements that we believe are true about Jesus, the Kingdom, and our shared mission:
We believe the Good News that Jesus has inaugurated the promised and much-hoped-for Kingdom of God.
He died for our sins on a Roman cross, was buried, and rose from the dead to witnesses on the third day.
He ascended to the heavens where he rules in power and intercedes for us.
He sent us his Holy Spirit to be his witnesses throughout the earth and gave us gifts for ministry and equipping the church.
He gave us the Bible, which is the story of God's redemptive history, and is essential for transformation and to prepare and equip the church for ministry.
He founded the church, the new temple where heaven and earth meet, of which he is the Head, and has made us priest-kings.
He has promised to return in glory to consummate a new heavens and new earth and raise the dead to resurrection bodies like his.
He will complete justice by judging the evil powers and principalities, including death itself, and all humanity.
He will plant an eternal Garden-City for the healing of the nations where we will reign with him forever.
In addition to these statements, we align with the global church in recognizing the Lausanne Covenant as a solid theological foundation and call to mission.
"We don't believe something by merely saying we believe it, or even when we believe that we believe it. We believe something when we act as it if were true." - Dallas Willard
