How to Bless Those Who Offend You
Learning how to actually do the things Jesus said and did
It was the second time in a week and my wife Amber was highly offended. A close friend this time. A few days earlier, the offense had been from an acquaintance and had been countered by an appropriately spiny remark. That had been a grade-F failure. But this time, the rebuttal got lodged in her throat. She still felt the offense, but something was changing. Maybe a grade-C this time?
Soon after, Amber shared with me what we now lovingly refer to as “The Steps”. Not the twelve steps from Alcoholics Anonymous, although those are very powerful in their own right. These steps are a simple, Biblical process to bless anyone who has caused offense. And now, it was my turn to learn.
